Bridgewater Interiors

Bridgewater Interiors aims to provide customer-focused automotive interiors manufacturing services at industry-leading performance levels that fulfill the ideals of Minority Business Enterprise leadership. Further, we heed the responsibility of good corporate citizenship, dedicated community involvement and an adherence to diversity in our supplier base and employee ranks.

Bridgewater Interiors was founded as a joint venture with Johnson Controls to manufacture automotive seating components for General Motors. Ron Hall Sr. was identified to lead the organization after demonstrating solid business acumen throughout his career, including his tenure heading the Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC). Bridgewater Interiors quickly established relevance in the automotive supplier space, as its initial five-year GM contract was the largest ever awarded to a minority business by an automaker.

The company has since grown from that initial GM agreement, expanding from one Detroit location with 133 employees, to four facilities producing automotive seating components for GM, Honda, Ford and Chrysler with more than 2,000 employees and annual revenue exceeding $2 billion. Between the four customers we service, Bridgewater Interiors manufactures interior components for 15 different models.

Minority Business Enterprise

Bridgewater Interiors is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, a regional affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. With annual revenue exceeding $2 billion, we are one of America's largest MBEs.

In addition to our initial contract with GM in 1998, we also have the distinction of receiving the largest contracts ever awarded to an MBE by Ford Motor Company (2003) and Honda (2004).

Quality Recognition

Bridgewater has been recognized over the years for its superior quality and service, as its many awards and acknowledgements attest. Some of the company’s acknowledgements include recognition from J.D. Power and Associates as the top domestic seat builder; General Motors as a four-time Supplier of the Year; Honda as a Quality, Delivery and Safety Award recipient; and Ford as a Quality and Environmental Award recipient. In 2013, the U.S. Department of Commerce, through its Minority Business Development Agency, named Bridgewater Interiors its Manufacturer of the Year.
