Bridgewater Detroit experienced an inspiring and heartwarming day of giving as team members rallied together to support local children and community organizations during the holiday season.
The day began with an unexpected visit from volunteers at Maybury Elementary School, which serves nearly 400 Pre-K–5th grade students, many from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school reached out seeking support for its annual Children’s Christmas Festival — and the Bridgewater team immediately stepped into action.
Thanks to the generosity of Bridgewater’s sister plants, along with Adient and their African Ancestry Business Resource Group, Bridgewater Detroit delivered over 400 toys, ensuring that every child at Maybury Elementary will have a gift to open this Christmas. The joy and gratitude shared by the school’s volunteers set a beautiful tone for the day, reflecting the true spirit of the season.
Bridgewater’s commitment to community didn’t end there. In response to additional requests, the team continued spreading cheer throughout the day by donating:
-200+ toys to the Detroit Police Department’s 4th Precinct
-2 brand-new bicycles to Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision (SDEV), generously provided by Bridgewater’s promotional partner, Proof Imaging
Bridgewater also extends a heartfelt thank you to UAW Local 600 and all individuals who contributed to the company’s holiday toy drive. Their overwhelming support helped fill the room with donations and ensured that families across Detroit felt the warmth of the holiday season.
This day of giving was a powerful reminder of what the holidays are truly about — community, compassion, and coming together to uplift those around us. Bridgewater is proud of the collective effort that made this possible, especially on such short notice.
