The numbers are startling: According to Business Leaders for Michigan’s latest benchmarking, Michigan is now ranked 31st of 50 states, down two spots since 2021.
But the organization known as Business Leaders for Michigan has a plan to change Michigan’s trajectory. Our President and CEO, Ronald Hall, who is a part of the organization, was recently invited to participate in a powerful discussion on Michigan’s future along with other leaders from across the state at The Economic Club of Grand Rapids.
Ronald was joined by Rick Keyes, President and CEO of Meijer, Tina Freese Decker, President and CEO of Corewell Health; as well as Jeff Donofrio, President and CEO of Business Leaders for Michigan.
During the event, the leaders discussed an informative document constructed by the Business Leaders for Michigan called, “Compete to Win: Michigan’s Path to Top 10,” which lays out recommendations for systemic change to strengthen Michigan’s fundamentals in education, economic development, job creation, infrastructure and population growth. They also shared their own perspectives on what it will take to make Michigan a Top 10 state.
It was an insightful event and we’re proud that he was invited to participate! We look forward to more fantastic, constructive dialogues like this in the near future!
