At Bridgewater, we’re committed to inclusivity as well as to embracing and celebrating individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. We believe inclusivity empowers and uplifts others to share diverse experiences, thoughts, and ideas that can positively change the world. With these in mind, we join our nation in celebrating and embracing LGBT Pride Month during June.
According to the Library of Congress, Pride Month began after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969, happening in Manhattan. Pride Month was created to in honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan and has since spread outside of the United States. Pride Month was also created to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.
Recently, our Bridgewater team in Lansing celebrated Pride Month. See photos from their celebration below!
