As summer comes to a close, Bridgewater Interiors reflects on the experiences that gave emerging professionals an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and discover what their futures could hold.
As another summer comes to an end, we’re proud to look back on the meaningful experiences that helped our interns learn, grow, and prepare for what comes next.
One of those experiences brought Bridgewater Interiors, Adient, and our interns together at our Lansing, Michigan facility for a day focused on learning, collaboration, and professional development.
Taking Learning Beyond the Classroom
Hosted in partnership with the Adient African American Business Resource Group (AABRG), the visit gave interns a firsthand look at the people, processes, and teamwork that help power our manufacturing operations.
Through a plant overview, facility tour, and interactive team-building activities, interns had an opportunity to see manufacturing in action while gaining a broader perspective on the many roles, skills, and career paths that move our industry forward.
As many of our interns prepare to return to school or take the next step in their professional journeys, experiences like these provide lessons and perspectives they can carry with them well beyond the summer.
Preparing Today’s Interns for Tomorrow’s Opportunities
At Bridgewater Interiors, we believe an internship should be about more than spending a summer in the workplace. It should provide emerging professionals with opportunities to contribute, ask questions, build relationships, develop new skills, and begin envisioning what their own futures could look like.
That’s why experiences like our Lansing facility visit matter. They give the next generation an opportunity to learn directly from professionals in the field, experience the industry firsthand, and make connections between what they are learning today and where it could take them tomorrow.
We’re grateful to Adient and the Adient African American Business Resource Group for partnering with us, as well as everyone at our Lansing facility who helped make the experience meaningful.
