As one of America’s most prominent minority business enterprises, Bridgewater understands and embraces the responsibility that comes with such status. The company is dedicated to robust community involvement efforts in and around the Michigan and Alabama communities where it operates.

Bridgewater is committed to partnering with charitable organizations and community groups that help advance the mutual agenda of improving the lives of those in need. The company accepts the responsibility of enhancing local communities as an integral part of its core business. This company-wide mindset of good corporate citizenship is evidenced by the significant financial gifts Bridgewater bestows each year to causes focused on social and educational advancements, and the many community service pursuits of its employees.

Bridgewater has given more than $100,000+ in charity donations annually to entities throughout the nation.

Bridgewater’s senior leadership team is very active on local nonprofit boards, such as First Step and the Skillman Foundation.

In 2015, Bridgewater Interiors became the first black-owned firm to endow a full academic scholarship at the University of Michigan.

In 2019, the company began to fund an endowed full-tuition scholarship at Western Michigan University, alma mater of the company’s founder.

Since its inception, Bridgewater has made contributing to charitable causes a primary objective. In addition to providing financial support, the company and its employees give of their time at a range of philanthropic events. Company leadership and rank-and-file workers alike often team up to show support for an assortment of charitable and community organizations. A few of the causes to which Bridgewater has provided support include the American Diabetes Association, Detroit PAL, National Association of Black Suppliers Scholarship Fund, United Negro College Fund, Habitat for Humanity, First Step, and a host of other initiatives.
